Stonehurst Team

  • Peter Rattay has owned and operated the Stonehurst Manor for over 40 years. He strives to make it a romantic retreat for visitors looking to experience New Hampshire’s quaint but stunning countryside, and exceed the expectations of the Manor’s many repeat clientele.
  • Laurel Rattay, Peter's wife and also an owner at the Manor, can be observed leaving her special touch on all the displays and seasonal decorations throughout the property. Her keen eye is responsible for the many improvements throughout the hotel and, specifically, the room furnishings and common spaces.

  • General Manager Heidi Shellmer has been with the Manor over 20 years. Heidi oversees all day-to-day operations and coordinates the management team and hourly employees of our North Conway, NH hotel. A driving force in guest satisfaction, Heidi is also the Manor’s Team Leader for Making Strides Against Cancer, one of the Hotel’s two major charity causes.

  • Front Office Manager Leona Kealty's infectious smile has been greeting guests on the phone and upon arrival for over 15 years. Leona is our ambassador to all things inside and outside Stonehurst and is happy to get you ski passes, directions to a great hike, or solve any request you have.

  • Bartender Michael Rego has been creating innovative cocktails and tending the bar in the Library Lounge for over 7 years. He is our well-loved Beverage Manager and challenges himself to develop a unique beverage for each wedding we host.

In The Kitchen

  • Executive Chef Brian Garvin originally joined our Culinary Team late in 2014 as the Executive Sous Chef. Brian prides himself on sharing his innovative take on authentic New England Cuisine.

  • An experienced Sous Chef in larger Hotels, Richard Fox joined the Culinary Team early in 2013. Richard can often be seen manning the wood-fired ovens, spinning our signature pizzas, like the Best of New England and the Classic Margherita.

  • Miles Williams. 2009 Graduate of New England Culinary Institute in Montpelier, Vermont. Miles has experience in various kitchens including The Mountain Washington Hotel, Bretton Woods, NH and the Sous chef of Saalt & Libby's Bistro in Gorham, NH. More recently the Sou Chef of Boston's Public House, Boston MA and Chef at Craigie on Main & The Kirkland Tap & Trotter Cambridge, MA. Miles joined our team in the summer of 2016.

Maintenance

  • A former helicopter Pilot for the US Army, Karl Chandler is our New Chief Engineer and helps keep our property & grounds ship-shape. A Bartlett, NH native and ski enthusiast, Karl is eager to share about the sights and slopes that New Hampshire has to offer.

Housekeeping

  • Christine joined the Manor as the Executive Housekeeper in 2015 and can be seen zipping from room to room, ensuring that our clean rooms are in tip-top shape. Always smiling, she and her team help to maintain the common spaces.
