Although he wasn’t gone for too long, we are so happy to welcome Peter Rattay, Stonehurst Manor’s owner, back home. Peter was off in Norwich, Vermont taking a bread baking class at King Arthur Flour Company. As a renowned baking company, culinary educational resource and flour distribution enterprise, King Arthur Flour Company’s products can be found all over the world and now they pass on their expertise to the Stonehurst!
Peter is now a certified “Expert Artisan Bread” maker. This means wonders for our wood fired pizza! Pay extra attention to the pizza portion on our dinner menu and don’t forget the breakfast menu as well! As one of the few restaurants in the Mt. Washington Valley to offer original home made wood fired pizza we are dedicated to evolving our products into making them the best they can be. So far this summer, along with Peter’s latest Artisan Bread certification, we have welcomed a new chef into our kitchen with an outstanding resume and created an enticing new summer menu. Be sure to experience everything we have to offer and make a reservation with us today!
Come on in and choose a place to sit and relax and enjoy a drink, dinner and our view! Just take a look at the view we host on our patio!

You could sit down on a warm summer’s evening and look out into the mountains with the temptation of our food enticing you as you wait to eat! We look forward to seeing you here!

It is getting hotter and hotter here by the day. We just hosted two 90 degree days last week and we are looking forward to more than a week of weather in the mid 70’s to 80’s. This means that not only are we busting out our shorts and short-sleeved shirts, but all of our local watering holes will be gearing up to host the many people looking for a refreshing dip. Although our waterfalls and rivers are great spots to include on a scenic drive, they may not offer the comfort that a private pool could.
Manager’s Note: Check out our North Conway lodging specials for this week!
We have opened up our pool, set upon over 30 acres of land overlooking Mt. Washington. Here at the Stonehurst Manor, we pride ourselves on our beautiful, unique and well kept grounds that set the scene and our jacuzzi keeps things warm and bubbly when the sun is setting and the wind picks up. Take a look at our grounds to see what we can offer and don’t hesitate to call or make a reservation!
The veranda has plenty of seating for you to enjoy a drink from our legendary dining room or to watch the stars. We have had a full moon and a harvest moon in the last two days and we are looking forward to what other treats the sky will give us. The nights are so clear and the days are full of bright blue sky with not a cloud in sight. Just take a look at a photo I took just the other day of our perfect blue sky!

Our pool is the perfect way to relax amongst nature and enjoy the beauty of what Mt. Washington Valley has to offer! We can’t wait to share the warm weather with you!

All you have to do is pick the place, season and activities for your vacation. It seems simple enough, but there are so many things to consider when taking time for yourself and your family. If you like to take your time and "smell the snowflakes" when cross country skiing or snowshoeing, then the Mt. Washington Valley Ski Touring Network that goes by our door is the answer. The trails are groomed and, for the most part, are on gentle terrain. You’ll glide (or clump) through forests and fields and along the sparkling Saco River… or you could head into North Conway Village for lunch at The Stairway Café (across from the park) or The Courtyard Café (downstairs from Olympia Sports). And, there’s always time for a little shopping!
Best of all, skiing from our door is FREE when you’re a guest at The Manor for a minimum of two nights (double occupancy) anytime this winter! Our rates are always in season and we invite you to experience the spectacular beauty of Mt. Washington Valley from the "slow lane". When your day is done, come sit by the fire in the Library Lounge and sip a hot drink or your favorite libation… does it get any better than that? Well, maybe… dinner starts serving at 5:30pm!

Every year from late September through October, the White Mountains go into their “fashion mode” and decide to deck themselves out in their gaudiest finery for all to see. And, what a show! From every vantage point, whether driving, hiking or biking, you’ll see LOTS of color… the reds, oranges, yellows and russets of maples, birches, oaks and sumac set against the dark greens of tall, stately pines. On clear days, when the sky is impossibly blue, this panorama of vibrant color just shimmers before your eyes. You can’t help but be totally amazed by this earthly miracle. Forget all the scientific explanations… it’s just plain GORGEOUS!
As for YOUR attire in the autumnal season, any fashion choice of sweaters, fleece vests and waterproof jackets are in order even if the temperatures are warm during the day. It’s New England after all and you never know when the weather is going to change! Packing for all contingencies is especially important if you’re hking or biking in the hills. Above certain elevations or even on Main Street, there’s always a possibility of snow or icy rain at a moment’s notice. So, be a good scout and come prepared!
A collection of foliage season photographs can be found at http://bobgrantphotography.com/fall_summer.htm. Bob’s been "shooting the Valley" for years and has created a fantastic visual history of the area. Check it out!
Weather forecasts for the North Conway area can be found at http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?zoneid=NHZ004. Type in The Manor’s zip code — 03860 — and hit GO. Voila! A detailed run-down of what to expect weather-wise while visiting Mt. Washington Valley and Stonehurst Manor! No guarantees but…

Located just across the front lawn from the Manor, our gorgeous three-level, fully-equipped Stonehurst Village Condominiums are the perfect “home away from home” while visiting Mt. Washington Valley. Sharing a condo is a really smart idea for families or groups of friends and we think you’ll find our nightly and weekly rates reasonable especially as all the Manor’s amenities are at your disposal.
Food shopping for stay-at-home meals is easy as both Hannaford and Shaw’s Supermarkets are in North Conway along with our local Grant’s Supermarket in Glen. Sure, you can stay in and cook for yourselves but, please, treat yourself to at least one dinner across the way. We bet you won’t be able to resist the Stonehurst Manor Menu!
