Jessica Parent – Featured Bride of the Month
Meet Jessica Parent, our featured bride of the month! This beautiful girl and her handsome husband have a very sweet story to share about love, window panes, and magic photo booths! Follow along with the Q&A to take the journey from when they met to when they were married, overlooking the mountains at the Manor.
Q. How did you two meet?
A. We met at Enterprise Rent a Car at the Manchester Airport Office. Jason and I both worked together. Jason was shy, but opened up to me and was really hilarious and fun once we started talking and getting to know one another.
Because of his shyness, I decided to get the courage up and ask him out. Sometimes it’s what a girl has to do! And so it began.
They must have done something right, because the love radiated from them. It was clear that they were in love and they were both really excited and happy be getting married.
“It was a dream come true to marry my best friend”, Jessica said.
Q. Why did you choose Stonehurst Manor?
A. It is a gorgeous venue! Their food is delicious and we didn’t have to find a caterer. We met with Heidi and Peter and from the moment we met them, we knew that Stonehurst was the place. We were looking for a place that would show off the beauty that NH offers and we were not disappointed.
Q. Describe your experience at Stonehurst. Before, during, and after your wedding day.
A. Heidi and Peter were so accommodating! The price was fantastic. The whole way through the process Heidi was my personal wedding planner. Any detail I needed, she was on top of it. Chef Avi catered to us to find the perfect menu!. We felt like celebrities. We have recommended it to all of our friends.
There was a small issue that we had to push back the rehearsal dinner the day before, and they handled it smoothly and without hesitation.
For months after the wedding we have been getting compliments on the food, atmosphere, and the fun that our guests had. Many of them said it was the best wedding they had ever been to!
I couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else.
Q. What was your wedding theme and style?
A. It was sort of a vintage/country/classic theme. I used teacups and lace doilies on the table at the entrance to the reception. At my sorority, every senior gives a teacup to the house when they graduate. So teacups have always had a special meaning to me. Jason’s grandmother donated tea cups for the wedding which made it even more special.
What was really memorable is that I started a wedding tradition for my entire family. We used an old windowpane from our family with the seating chart for each table. It was set up with the teacups and flowers as the guests entered the reception area. The window itself will now be passed down for other weddings in the family since I am the oldest grandchild. How wonderful is that?
Looking for a florist, Heidi had recommended Blooming Vineyards. Lisa was amazing. She presented so many options to choose from to match our wedding theme. I highly recommend her. She even incorporated some material from my wedding dress along with flowers atop the trellis that we were married under.
Q. Highlight of your wedding day?
A. One of the most incredible and memorable moments of the wedding was right In the middle of the ceremony, when the pastor mentioned loved ones who had passed before, a gust of wind came and blew off my veil and I caught it. I felt the strong presence of my Grandmother Margaret in that moment- a gentle reminder that I was being looked after from afar.
Following that moment, having my family and friends around me, the weather was beautiful, and the food was amazing! The DJ was spinning the music and EVERYONE was dancing!
Q. What’s one tidbit of advice for future (Stonehurst) brides?
A. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Stonehurst is so accommodating to even the smallest request. Heidi was with me every step of the way.
I also recommend putting a photo booth in the gazebo. The guests loved it. All the pictures were duplicated so guests received one and the other was placed into a guest book and signed. Now I have an amazing keepsake to cherish forever!

Q. How did you find Stonehurst as a wedding venue?
A. Compared to the competition, Stonehurst is just gorgeous with beautiful views of the White Mountains. We really wanted something outdoors to lend to our country themed wedding. I also loved that in the event there was rain, It was great to have a backup plan that was just as awesome as the original plan… getting married in the library lounge in front of the giant fireplace!
You really can have a luxury wedding in a mountain mansion at Stonehurst for a reasonable price. We had 130 people at our wedding, and Stonehurst made it possible.
