Here Comes The Bride: Meet Andrea King
“…And so the King and Queen lived happily ever…”
Five year old girls dream of it, Taylor Swift sings about it, and it is the storyline of countless movies from decades of both past and present. The notion of a King finding his Queen and giving her a happily ever after is a fantasy that us women, young and old, love to day dream about.
Stonehurst Manor. Her wedding planning journey began several months before after stumbling upon Stonehurst while looking online for the perfect North Conway wedding venue. After meeting with in-house wedding planner, Heidi Shellmer, Andrea knew that her storybook ending could begin here at the Manor.
“Heidi and I hit it off right from the start, “ Andrea reflects. “This isn’t the type of wedding venue where they’re formal or cold or business like. Heidi and her team truly cared and enjoyed being a part of our big day. They paid attention to the detail right along with us. We’re a fun loving couple who love to laugh and enjoy life, the Stonehurst family was there from the rehearsal dinner to the end of our wedding day joking, laughing, and enjoying the day right along with us.”
Playing off of her soon-to-be (and now current) last name of “King”, Andrea decided to get creative, using her fiancee David’s last name as the inspiration behind their small and intimate wedding: a King + Queen theme. Royal purple as her wedding color, Andrea utilized this royale color, playing her royalty-based theme with items such as tiny crowns accenting the place settings, majestic royally-themed invitations, and even got as creative king and queen cork stoppers. What an awesome play on words!
When asked her favorite part of the day, Andrea just couldn’t pick:
“Oh gosh, I can’t pick a favorite moment. The entire day was amazing and perfect. We had perfect weather too! I can’t pick just one moment that sets out on my wedding day, the entire wedding was perfect. Even the night before for the rehearsal dinner (with those oven-baked pizza) we found ourselves so relaxed, calm, and stress-free. The day of the wedding everything went off without a hitch. The Stonehurst family is so accommodating, too! We had to get our hair done at the salon that morning and the Stonehurst kitchen crew packed up breakfast sandwiches for us on the go so we weren’t late. You just don’t find a wedding venue with a staff that feels so much like family. It’s an amazing experience. It was a perfect day.”
